Air Quality Delays Jury Trials

Due to the on-going health hazards related to poor air quality in our region, the Superior Court Judges have decided to continue all jury trials for the week of September 14, 2020 to the week of September 21, 2020.The judges made this decision based on input from the local Department of Emergency Management Department and Public Health Officials.

"While jury service is absolutely critical to the administration of justice, we do not want to unnecessarily risk people's health. With the COVID pandemic impacting us all and now poor air quality, we do not believe it is good for public health to hold jury trials this week.We are optimistic that things will improve by next week but we will re-evaluate at that time", said Judge Gary Bashor, Cowlitz County Presiding Judge.
