Tierra Busby named Court Commissioner to Replace Dennis Maher

The Superior Court Judges are pleased to announce that Tierra Busby has been selected to replace Dennis Maher as a part-time court commissioner with the Cowlitz County Superior Court bench.Ms. Busby's appointment will be effective February 4, 2019.
Ms. Busby has been working with the Court for a number of years and currently presides over the Superior Court Mental Health Court. It is anticipated she will be presiding over all of the family law and protection order dockets formerly handled by Commissioner Maher.
Commissioner Busby graduated from the University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies in 1995 and from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1998. After law school, Commissioner Busby completed a 2-year Judicial Clerkship, and was then accepted into the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program for a year-long position abroad.
She returned to Washington in 2001 and served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Cowlitz County in criminal, juvenile, and child support matters and went on to practice privately in the areas of juvenile defense and child advocacy, family law, estate planning, and guardian ad litem services.
